20th-21st Century US Auxiliary Markings Sampler

Auxiliary mark: Postal marking applied to covers by handstamp, machine cancellation, a stick-on label, manuscript markings, or by mechanical or electronic methods such as addressograph or computer, indicating that the covers were given special attention due to some special circumstance.

This work was originally prepared as an interactive presentation given to the Rochester Philatelic Association on March 25, 2004 using a laptop computer and Proxima projector. As such, minimal text is found among the pages now online.

Come explore some of these markings and their covers!
